Hi, I’m Ceara

I’m so glad you’re here…

I am one of only three Ayurvedic postpartum doulas in Ireland. I specialise in providing truly nurturing, mother-centric support for families in the first weeks and months of parenthood.

The care I offer mothers and babies is deeply rooted in Ayurvedic principles. It focuses on 4 essential pillars of postpartum care: rest, diet, body care, and herbs. 

​

I can also provide craniosacral therapy (CST) treatments for your little one, delivering many restorative benefits in their early weeks and onwards.

​​

My ethos is focused on "mothering the mother". When new mothers can slow down and be truly cared for in those precious early weeks, the positive effects on the whole family are remarkable.

What is a Postpartum Doula?

A postpartum doula provides essential care and support following the birth of your baby.​

Often, we are so focused on pregnancy and birth, that we don’t give much thought to what is sometimes called “the fourth trimester”, or what I like to call “your journey into motherhood”.

 

A postpartum doula will focus on what you truly need to heal and flourish in these early weeks.

If you're not sure whether you really need a postpartum doula, or if it's the right path for your journey, one of my short, taster sessions could be just the thing you need. â€‹

These packages are one-off sessions, each lasting around 3 hours.

Gather

A planning session for your postpartum journey before your baby arrives.

Exhale

This is a supportive check-in and care session soon after your little one is born. 

Craniosacral Therapy (CST)

I have trained in craniosacral therapy, particularly focused on working with babies from newborn onwards.

These beneficial treatments can be included with my postpartum doula care packages or booked as standalone sessions.

Nourishing Baby Shower

If traditional baby showers aren’t really your thing, my Nourishing Baby Shower offers a heartwarming and practical alternative. 

 

I work with you to select delicious, nurturing meals you would like to have prepped and stashed in the freezer for after your little one arrives. 

 

Next, we host your baby shower at your place or mine. Your friends and family gather to celebrate you and prepare batches of wholesome food for your first 42 days of motherhood.

A Connected Community

Find Your Village

In addition to my core doula offerings of postpartum care, I am passionate about supporting a return to “the village”. 

 

The old saying goes, “it takes a village to raise a child”. This is completely true, yet in recent decades we have lost our sense of a village. Parents increasingly feel alone in this wonderful, phenomenal task of raising little ones. 

 

I run a number of events and workshops, focused on creating a sense of connectedness and nurturing a support network among mothers.
